Kennel and Judging Profile
Together with my brother we bought our first boxer as a pet in 1962 and with some persuasion she was bred in 1966. Only three pups resulted and one of these was kept and became our first show boxer. She wasn't a great specimen but did achieve some minor placings at the local shows in Essex. She also was eventually bred but nothing of note was produced so we decided to purchase 2 well bred litter sisters from the Swanfield Kennels and one of these produced out first championship show winner in the early seventies.
Very soon after this I was posted to the Middle East with my company and my involvement was curtailed for a few years. On my return home my brother had taken a position in the United States and had moved his family to Boston. It was then that I established the Cherryside affix having to start all over again but luckily I was able to find a couple of excellent bitch puppies to buy. Since that time a number of top winners have been produced notably Champion Cherryside Cabarello, his daughter Champion Nateez Primero at Cherryside, his full brother Cherryside Manhattan and the litter mates Cherryside Montana and Cherryside Minnesota.
Champion Cabarello was a top winning puppy in 1992/3 and won 2 RCC's from the puppy classes. His younger brother Cherryside Manhattan was the top winning puppy dog in 1993/1994. They were both in the Dog of the Year Finals in 1994. Their sire was Champion Glenfall the Gladiator out of my own Cherryside Golden Virginia who was also the dam of my other winning Dog Cherryside Montana and his litter sister Cherryside Minnesota.
Champion Nateez Primero at Cherryside had a great show career wnning 5 CC's and 8 RCC's and near to 50 first placings at championship shows. She was the top winning boxer puppy in 1997/8 and qualified for the Dog of the Year in 1999 and also for the next three years taking third spot in 2001. Known as Skye she was by Champion Cabarello out of Roamaro Beau Belle at Nateez. Bred by Dawn Pilling, sadly she died of a brain tumor at the young age of eight.
I am now living in Southern California where many of near family live. My remaining two Boxers are here with me and it is hoped that Cherryside Mayfair Lane (Skye's daughter) will be bred again later this year.
